‘Landslide Liz’ Cheney Gets Absolutely Brutalized By Conservatives After Massive, Crushing Loss

In one of the most predictable primary outcomes of the 2022 election cycle, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) was trounced on Tuesday by her opponent, attorney Harriet Hageman. The final vote tally: Hageman with 66.3% of the vote, Cheney with 28.9%.

Resounding, crushing, total loss.

But for Cheney, her loss apparently culminates in some sort of neocon Never Trumper martyrdom, taking one for the team to uphold truth, justice, and the American way… or something like that. What Wyomingites know, is that she is definitely not concerned about the same things they are.

But the funniest action didn’t take place in Wyoming. It took place on this wonderful World Wide Web, where ‘Landslide Liz’ Cheney was absolutely savaged for her landslide loss. 

Liz will never be president.

Was That A Concession Speech?

Liz Cheney’s concession speech was one she could have written on a cocktail napkin at the Bush-Rove fundraiser thrown for her months ago. Surely the writing on the wall for this one has been clear for quite a while now.

With her Jan. 6 camera crew and producer in tow, she of course thanked family and friends. She briefly mentioned phoning Hageman and conceding, but she simply could not bring herself to offer any public congratulations or some sort of “let’s unite against the Democrats” message. Because it was not about uniting against the Democrats.

It did not take her long to launch into the latest diatribe against Donald Trump. She talked about how, two years ago, she won the primary with 70% of the vote. “I could have easily done the same again. But it would have required that I go along with President Trump’s lie about the 2020 election. it would have required that I enabled his ongoing efforts to unravel our democratic system, and attack the foundations of our republic. It is a path I could not and would not take.”

Cheney then compared herself to Abraham Lincoln. Wait what? Oh yes, she did.

“The great and original champion of our party, Abraham Lincoln, was defeated in elections for the Senate and the House before he won the most important election of all. Lincoln ultimately prevailed, he saved our union, and he defined our obligation as Americans for all of history.”

Many are taking that comparison as a hint that Cheney’s next move may be a presidential run in 2024. 

At any rate, people were not kind to Landslide Liz.

Liz Cheney has a gargantuan ego. Normal people would be crushed by such a huge loss. They would have humility and self-reflection forced upon them. Not Cheney. She believes the voters—not her—were on trial yesterday. They failed miserably! She remains a legend in her own mind

Sitting At The Lunch Table All By Herself

Reaction from some of Liz Cheney’s GOP colleagues was pretty harsh. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) made sure Cheney knew that no one else thinks she is like Abraham Lincoln.

A clear message is being sent about what the Republican Party needs to be.

GOP Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) did what Cheney couldn’t, congratulated Hageman and welcomed her to the GOP House Republicans.

As is usually the case, reaction on social media from conservatives to Landslide Liz’s political demise was more than entertaining. Donald Trump Jr. suggested Cheney look on the bright side of things.

Another conservative commentator Larry Elder had some employment suggestions for Liz now that she will be out of work.

In her concession speech, Liz Cheney hinted that she might run for president in 2024, if it could stop Trump from winning. But sources say although her application as a Cheyenne Walmart greeter was declined, she remains hopeful that Uber will reconsider.
