According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, Advanced Disposal is holding a job fair aimed at hiring between 20 and 25 new drivers for the waste company’s rapidly expanding routes. Due to the current economic outlook, it seems highly likely that this job fair will be mobbed and only those with a great deal of relevant experience will be considered for the spots. Still, it’s nice to hear about a local company that’s growing and not laying off.

There are still some companies adding workers, and one of them will host a job fair Saturday in Jacksonville.
Advanced Disposal Services Jacksonville LLC is looking for drivers to pilot the company’s garbage trucks in Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties. It will hold a job fair March 14 at the Embassy Suites Hotel on Baymeadows Road from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The company is trying to fill about 20-25 positions. The pay is dependent on experience and incentives and ranges from $28,000 to $79,000 a year.
“While many businesses are downsizing in today’s economy, the good news is that Advanced Disposal is hiring, and we are looking for the very best employees,” said District Manager Tammy Wilson.
Applicants must have a Class A or Class B driver’s license and have at least 3 years driving experience; they must have a clean driving record for the last three years and no major violations for the past five; and they must pass a background and drug test.
Advanced Disposal has operations in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. It employs about 1,350 people, about 250 of them in Jacksonville.

i have been driving trucks for waste management for almost 6yrs in cocoa florida and im relocating to jacksonville soon i have filled out and application and now im waiting for a response my driving record is outstanding i can run a front loader and also run a residential route i have all of the abilitys to get the job done
