Mark’s Pfantasy Pfootball for Week 14

Jaguars

The season is just about over Jags fans, but going out with a bang and playing the spoiler role could be the perfect ending. With the Jaguars next four games against playoff contenders they will have the chance to shake things up and make it harder for those teams to reach the postseason. But the other question is, “Is it time to tank the season for a high pick?“ As of now the Jaguars have a top 6 pick for next year’s draft and if they decide to give up like most teams do this late in season they could find themselves in line for a top 5 award.

To be honest, no one wants to see that. With a slim chance at a .500 record, the Jaguars could choose to turn it on and give us a look at what the team should have played like all season.

This week the Jaguars will be heading to “The Windy City” — their first stop under the “spoiler spotlight.” Both teams are coming off rough loses to division rivals on national TV and will be looking at each other to rebound. The Bears are a game out of first place in a real tight NFC North and have no room for a loss with the Packers right on their tail. The last time these two teams met, the Jaguars had a feast demolishing the Bears 22-3.

Chicago and Jacksonville last year were among the top 8 run stoppers in the NFL and now both find themselves closer to the bottom of the list. Running back Matt Forte is on a tear for a rookie and is leading his team in rushing yards, receptions, reception yards and overall touchdowns. So if the Jaguars thought they had a lot on their hands last week with rookie Steve Slaton, this week they are in for a real scare. Turning the ball over three times last week was the reason why the Jaguars came out with a loss and really were never in the game on Monday.

December is usually a happy time for the Jaguars and with two NFC opponents left David Garrard is looking to add to his 7-1 domination as a starter against the other side of the NFL. Alongside the outstanding record of Garrard Freddy-T becomes a force in December and in six of his last 8 games during this month he has rushed for over 100 yards. So if Freddy plays up to his December potential and MOJO keeps doing what he’s good at, the Jaguars just might be able to upset the Bears making them 1-0 in route to spoiling four out four.

Pfantasy Owners, for most of you this is the last week of the season and a playoff shot could be on the line. If you have either MOJO, Matt Forte, Gregg Olsen or Matt Jones go ahead and plug them into your starting lineup. Also if one of your RB’s is going up against a tough run stop defense, don’t be scared to pull the trigger and play Fred Taylor who is in route for another December breakout.

Dolphins

The season just keeps getting better and a game against the Bills at a neutral site could favor the Phins and put them even closer to a playoff spot. The AFC has four teams jabbing away at the two wild card slots… and at the same time, all are fighting for their division.

In week 8, the Dolphins defeated the Bills by eight which also was Ted Ginn’s coming out party and since then he has really been making a name for himself. The key factor in this game is the fact that it will be played in Canada and if you don’t know its someone’s homecoming.

Yes that’s right; Ricky is going back to the place that gave him his second chance. After being suspended from the NFL, Ricky Williams decided to join the Toronto Argonauts and became a fan favorite instantly.

Last week the Bills put up a whopping 3 points up against the 49ers and suffered an ugly loss. The team did not look in sync in any aspect but with all within three games anything can happen. Chad Pennington is playing the best football of his career and is currently the leader of a young football team with high postseason hopes. Coming off a trip to St. Louis, Chad did not throw a touchdown pass and still lead his team to victory by being smart and using all the weapons available to him.

Ronnie Brown and Chad Pennington are a sure deal to start this week and like I said about Fred Taylor, if you need a running back, turning to Ricky Williams could be a good move because being loved by the fans in Canada could mean he will see lots of carries. One of the sleepers of the week is the young talent of Ted Ginn Jr. who could be the factor because the Bills Defense had trouble putting up with his speed in the first meeting.

Good Luck in the last game of your Fantasy Football Season and hopefully you will have a squad in the playoffs!!!
