JAGUARS…
The Jaguars have been involved in very tight games from week one to week 5 and if you had to guess what is going to happen this week then you might see the same. In all the Jags games up to this point the final score has been 7 points or less. Last week Big Ben came back from an ugly win against Baltimore to have a season high game against Jacksonville. This week they will be facing the best passing offense in the league lead by Jay Cutler. Although Cutler didn’t have a great game last week, expect to see big things from him against a beat up Jaguar secondary. Denver has had the worst defense for the first 4 weeks in the season and last week they improved big time, only allowing 13 points and 307 yards is a big difference from their average 30 points per game and 420yards per game given up.
Jacksonville has still not developed a trust worthy passing game, which is key in tight games. It is about time that David throws for a few touchdowns and keeps the ball moving at all times. MOJO usually has big games against the Steelers but last week he and Taylor were both pretty quiet only rushing for a combined 15 times for 26 yards, if you had to ask me that is despicable. Overall the offense had under 220 net yards and this week they “HAVE TO” bounce back.
On the Pfantasy note we can call it the COMEBACK GAME. Both quarterbacks had weak games last week so expect them to turn it back into the right direction as well as the Jaguars running backs. My surprise pick in this game is Brandon Stokley; look for him to break out with over 6 receptions and be the guy Cutler goes to to pick up key first downs. It might be a little early but if Gerrard keeps declining so might his days in Jacksonville. The scouts have this game lob sided favoring the Broncos, but this could be the week the Jaguars finally show up on both sides of the ball.
In Order to Win-
1) Go deep- The Jaguars are yet to throw the deep ball more than 3 times in one game, so it’s time to hit someone on the fly.
2) Keep Cutler guessing- Throw all different kinds of schemes so Cutler can’t get comfortable
DOLPHINS…
Look what the Dolphins have done already this year; they already put themselves in the driver seat to have a better record than last year. From here on out its going to be considered a winning season for the Phins. They have beaten two of the elite teams in the NFL who both played in the AFC championship last year. The Wildcat formation is working and that means why stop doing it. Ronnie Brown has rushed for 5 touchdowns in the past two games and in each of them he ran for over 100 yards.
The Dolphins will be heading over to Houston to take on the 0-4 Texans. Houston last week had a miserable loss against the Colts. They were up 10 with a little over 4 minutes to play and Sage Rosenfels fumbled the ball twice while trying to run the clock out and both turnovers led to touchdowns. So with their first win in their hands they let it go and gave the Colts one of the best comeback wins of the year.
Pfantasy talk for this game begins with the Wildcat formation; expect it to be run at least 10 times in this game but be sure to follow Ricky as he comes across for the hand-off. With that being said you can’t go wrong starting Ronnie and if one of your running backs has a BYE don’t be scared to start Ricky. Chad Pennington is coming of two great games, where he has thrown the ball over 200 yards, with 1 touchdown and the key part was that he threw no interceptions. If you have a guy like Hassleback or Palmer and need someone to start go with Chad who has been solid as of late.
THE BUCS…
Tampa Bay will be the short highlighted game out of Florida. Last week the Bucs lost their starting QB which might not be a bad thing. When Brian Griese went down Jeff Garcia stepped back in and drove their slow moving offense down the field for a touchdown, which was the only TD they had all game. As of now Garcia will be starting which might not be a bad move, being able to move around in the pocket is really going to help against the Panthers who love to come with pressure. Last week the Bucs did have a huge upside when they shut down the best offense in the league and held them to 16 points. But with that upside there was a huge downside, the Broncos do have the best offense but they also had the worst defense and the Bucs were not able to take advantage of it.
This game will have lots of Pfantasy flavor but will be in the direction of the Panthers. Expect the wide receiver core of Carolina to have a very good game, lead by Steve “I’ll run By You” Smith and Mushin “I’m Back” Muhammad. Jeff Garcia has a lot to prove in this game in order to keep starting so he is very likely to have a good game.
