The CivicFest at the downtown Minneapolis Convention Center has been a popular attraction for the Florida delegation. Here are some highlights from a recent visit.

There are some big giant signs hanging from the rafters, in case you’re unsure of where you are.

Here is a cutaway scale model of the White House - complete with furniture and detailed woodwork. There’s two whole other wings on either side that don’t even fit in the picture.

A realistic model of a former Air Force One shows what life was like in the air for presidents of the past.

This is the general seating area for advisers but doesn’t compare to the relatively roomy, luxurious 747 used today.

There was an entire section dedicated to all different flags used in the nation’s history.

C-SPAN had set up a bus that acts as a miniature studio, complete with seating and production equipment. The public is allowed to walk through when it is not in use.

A full-size model of the “business end” of the Oval Office (secret office accessible by secret door not included). It’s not really as big as one would think.

A large retail area sold all sorts of McCain gear, souvenirs and so on. I got a C-SPAN hat.
