Today is primary election day here in Florida. Among the many races on the ballot locally, the highest profile is the one in which voters will select a new State Attorney to replace Harry Shorstein. Candidates Angela Corey and Jay Plotkin have been campaigning hard for months and the race has been quite heated at times. The race will be on the ballot in Clay, Duval, and Nassau Counties.

Also on the ballot in Clay, Duval, and Nassau are a pair of judicial races. One featuring Virginia Norton and Rick Buttner, the other pits Mark Hulsey against Adrian Soud. Voters on the First Coast will also have their say in a pair of special elections for the Jacksonville City Council, numerous area County Commission races, a number of State House seats, several hotly contested Sheriff’s races, and an assortment of other contests.

Visit your county’s Supervisor of Elections website to find out more about where you’re supposed to vote, what candidates will be on the ballot in your precinct, and any other information that you need.
