Bob Harms is a candidate for City Council Group 2 At-Large in the August special election. He was previously a candidate for that same seat last Spring and a candidate for U.S. Congress in 2006 as the Democratic nominee against Ander Crenshaw. Mr. Harms recently took a few moments to answer some questions for Jax Daily…
JaxDaily: Why did you first decide to run for this city council seat back in 2007?
Bob Harms: In my ‘06 race against Ander Crenshaw, I received a large number of votes in Eastern Duval County. I thought if I could add these votes to the predominately Democratic precincts in Duval County, I would have a good chance to win.

JaxDaily: How did you feel when the judge ruled that Jay Jabour had acted improperly and had not been eligible to run for the Group 2 seat?
Bob Harms: Vindicated.
—————————–
JaxDaily: If you are elected this time around, what would be your top priorities for the next two and a half years?
Bob Harms: Public safety and education.
—————————–
JaxDaily: What do you think is the best approach to dealing with the high violent crime rates that we’ve been experiencing? How do you feel about the Jacksonville Journey?
Bob Harms: More police on the ground in high crime areas. It has great ideas, but only time will tell.
—————————–
JaxDaily: What is your opinion of the St. Johns River Water Management District’s proposal to drain water from the river to supply Central Florida’s growing needs? What can the city do to protect the river?
Bob Harms: I am intensely against taking water out of the St. Johns River. The city should take every possible legal step to stop this.
—————————–
JaxDaily: Are you concerned that by having two Democrats in the race, yourself and John Cresimbeni, the Democratic vote will be split and that neither of you might win because of that?
Bob Harms: A possibility.
—————————–
JaxDaily: What groups or individuals have endorsed your candidacy?
Bob Harms: None at this time.
—————————–
JaxDaily: On a personal note, what’s your favorite place to grab a bite to eat?
Bob Harms: There are several. Jacksonville offers many fine places to eat.
—————————–
JaxDaily: Have you read any good books lately?
Bob Harms: Goodbye Darkness by William Manchester, In Retrospect by Robert McNamara, The Power and the Glory by William White.
—————————–
JaxDaily: What other kinds of things do you enjoy doing while’re not out campaigning?
Bob Harms: Basketball, walking, kibitzing, and playing with my seven grandchildren.
—————————
JaxDaily: Thanks for taking the time to answer a few of our questions, is there anything else you’d like to add?
Bob Harms: I believe that I can make a difference.

Harms will win and knock the others teeth out. The worst offender in this race is Elaine’s corrupt spouse.

Kooky Mr. Harms has as much chance of getting elected as Bozo does.
