The Supervisor of Elections website is showing that State Representative Stan Jordan has filed to run for Duval County School Board. Jordan has already served 16 years on the School Board include 4 years as the Chairman. He has represented District 17 in the State House since 2000, but term limits prevent him from seeking another term in the legislature. Other candidates currently running for School Board in Jordan’s district include Ken Manuel, Jim Moser, and Cathie Pittman Shimp.
With Jordan now the prohibitive front-runner in the race, I would expect we’ll see one or more of these other candidates bow out before qualifying next month.
Five candidates are currently in the race for Representative Jordan’s House seat, they include former Councilman Lake Ray, Mario Rubio, and Gordon Morgan.
